Tinchuley: Where Dreams Meet the Mountains
Tinchuley, Darjeeling
Three "Chullas," or ovens, are known collectively as Tinchuley. Tinchuley, a little town near Darjeeling, has recently grown in prominence as a consequence of residents' initiatives to encourage local tourism. Leading the charge and tailoring the homestay concept to their needs is the Gurung family. For lovers of the outdoors, thrill seekers, and those looking for peace and quiet, this charming village offers a pleasant and relaxing refuge. Tinchuley Sunrise Point: From here, you may enjoy stunning views of the mountains in the area, as well as the Tista Valley. From here, you can see all the important locations in the area, including Kalimpong, and destinations in East and South Sikkim like Namchi.
Tinchuley Monastery: If you visit Tinchuley, you must see this modest monastery, which is revered by the locals. Locals claim that a monk spent 17 years in the monastery practicing meditation.
Chotamangwa and Bara Mangwa:The nearby villages of Tinchuley include Chotamangwa and Bara Mangwa, two well-known communities. On the upper ridges of the hills below Tinchuley, Chota Mangwa is located. Tinchuley and Chota Mangwa are separated by only a few hundred meters. One to five kilometers away and further downhill on the same slope is the Bara Mangwa settlement. Both villages are well-known for their views of Tista and the Kalimpong hills.
